Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?
Absolutely not. In fact, manufacturers are not allowed to force you to take the vehicle back to them for servicing although they imply it keeps your vehicle warranty intact. Having your vehicle serviced by an independent workshop like Yass Valley Automotive not only saves you money, but the whole process is more convenient without affecting your new car warranty at all. How long will the service take?
Generally a service will take 2 hours. We require that the car should be left with us for the day. If you need your vehicle to be finished by a particular time, we can only accommodate this if advised at time of booking.
How much will my service cost?
Service costs vary from car to car and for different services. We suggest calling us to give you an estimate on servicing costs.
How can I pay for my Service?
We offer several types of payment, including card facilities and cash, we DO NOT accept cheques AMEX or Diners. We can take payment over the phone for those that cannot attend during business hours.
When are you Open?
We are open 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and to 3pm on Fridays.
Are you open on weekends?
Unfortunately we are not open weekends.
What is the earliest time I can bring my car in?
We open at 8:30 am for vehicle drop off.
Can I drop off my car after hours?
Yes, cars can be dropped off after hours. Our well lit carpark is also monitored by 24hr camera surveillance. Cars and Trailers left in our carpark after hours are done so at your own risk.
Is there a secure key drop off box after hours?
We have a key drop box for cars dropped off after hours. Please call us for more information.
Can I collect my car after hours?
Your car can be collected after hours. Please call us for more information regarding this service.
Can you pick up my car from home?
Yes, if requested at time of booking, we can pick up your car from home from within the town limits.
Can you drop me home when I deliver my car for servicing or repair?
Yes, if requested at time of booking we can drop you home. We may be able to accommodate this at short notice, subject to staff availability.
What happens if something is not right after my car service?
While this is rare, we suggest calling us immediately if something does not seem right after your service. Yass Valley Automotive take great pride in our work, but if something doesn't seem quite right then just let us know. We are happy to sort out any problems you might have. Plus you have the added assurance of our REPCO Nationwide Warranty if you find yourself out of town.
Will you give me reminders when my next sercive is due?
We always leave a service sticker on your windscreen to remind you of the next service.
Can my car be serviced at the same time it is being repaired?
Yes, when requested and time permitting, we can service your vehicle when performing other repairs. Please let us know at time of booking in.
How do I book my car in for a service?
Please call us to book an appointment.
How often should I really service my car?
Most manufactures recommend servicing at least every 6 months or 10000 km's. Some brands its every 15000 km, some every 7500. Its best to look at your service book to see what is recommended. Vehicles with high mileage, or older type diesels should be serviced more frequently.
I don't drive much, do I still need a service?
Yes, infrequent driving can be just as taxing on a motor vehicle as driving a lot. tyres can go flat, batteries loose charge, and moisture and other contaminants can build up in the oil, especially with frequent cold starts and short trips. It is recommended to have your vehicle serviced at least every 6 months regardless of kilometers travelled.
Can you fix other things while my car is being serviced?
Time and parts availability permitting, we can attend to other issues your vehicle may have during a service. We will always call with an approximate price and approval before carrying out any extra repairs
Can you wash my car?
Unfortunately we do not offer a car wash service.
Do you use good quality oils and parts?
Yass Valley Automotive is proud to use only trusted and proven Castrol and Penrite Lubricants. With the backing of Repco we only use the best quality parts in repairing your vehicle.
Do you check my brakes during a service?
Yes, a full brake inspection is included during a service. We will examine brakes for pad thickness, uneven wear, correct adjustment and fluid/moisture density. We only use quality Bendix or Repco Parts when repairing your braking system.
